Providing Financial Help To Those Living With T1D – Apply Today!

Type One Cares – a campaign dedicated to building a community to assist those affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) with support, education and endowment, so they can live a powerful life beyond the diagnosis. Type One has partnered with the Barton Center for Diabetes Education, one of the largest, independent camping and educational programs in the country dedicated to children who live with diabetes and the people who care for them.

Send a Kid to T1D Camp – Scholarships
Type One will be providing scholarships for local children living with T1D to attend a week of residential camp this summer.

Providing Financial Help for Diabetes Management and Treatment
For qualifying recipients, Type One will provide assistance for families in need of purchasing diabetes supplies such as insulin, syringes, and test strips. Assist in paying for emergency care and assist with travel and accommodation expenses for appointments when applicable. Proper supplies, education, and care allow a patient to properly manage diabetes, and by bettering care early on, risk for long term complications is much lower.

Renegade Run is an experience where the community and families come together. What makes us different? Come join us on Sunday, October 20th to find out for yourself. Set up in picturesque Bare Cove Park, Hingham, the family-friendly Renegade Run, which begins at 9:00 AM, will feature a course through four miles of paved trails and wooded terrain with over 25 obstacles including monkey bars to cross, walls and cargo nets to climb, and tunnels to crawl through. Event activities include a Mini Renegade Run for kids, live concert, food trucks, vendors and beer tent.

This is a very unique race, not only in the course design and the atmosphere, but how we bring together a community committed to a cure for type 1 diabetes. We do this by creating South Shore’s Biggest Block Party. There will be cash prizes as well as a referral incentive discount for racers who want to start a team and fundraise. The course is open to the public so you can cheer on, take pictures or meet your runner anywhere along the route. There will be free t-shirts for all registrants, a complimentary beer for those 21+, finisher medals for those who complete the run, free parking and no spectator fee.

Cure T1D With Type One

It’s been 8 years since we first partnered with the Faustman Lab at MGH, supporting their life changing research that is leading the way toward a cure for type 1 diabetes. T1D strikes both children and adults at any age. It comes on suddenly, causes dependence of injected or pumped insulin for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.

Making A Difference At An Early Age

Nathan’s dad and little sister are living with type 1 diabetes. He has been with us from day one at our very first Renegade Run in 2012. Then, he was a one year old toddler standing at the finish line handing our medals to those who conquered our course. Today, he’s an eight year old boy in the second grade, advocating on our behalf and furthering our mission as he presents the goals of Type One and Renegade Run to his peers. The time is now to join our mission as we raise awareness and funds toward a cure for type 1 diabetes.

Type One Meets State Representative – Gets House Support!

It was such a great honor to meet with Representative Joan Meschino at the State House. We shared with her what we have accomplished since our inception in 2012 and discussed the role she and the State can play in the growth of our organization – broadening our outreach, strengthening our mission and helping to increase the positive impact we have made on the type 1 diabetes community.
