Barbie Lynch – Taylors Troopers
My name is Barbie Lynch. I am the mother of two amazing girls 7 and 9 years old. I have started this fundraiser in honor of someone that is very special to our family. My daughters very close 9 year old friend Taylor was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
I am amazed every day on how strong she is with all she goes through on a daily basis.
Before Taylor was diagnosed I had run the Renegade Run since it began 7 years ago. I knew a small amount of what T1D was but never fully understood the “everyday” tasks at hand. I never thought about the counting of carbs, or the many delay injections of insulin. I never understood that their isn’t a day off either. However I see her handle this with stride.
Donations go directly to the Type One Cares campaign, dedicated to building a community to assist those affected by T1D with support, education and endowment, so they can live a powerful life beyond the diagnosis and to finding a cure through the research of the Faustman Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital.
So in honor of our dear friend T, we look to raise not just money for a cause but awareness as well.
Please consider donating to our fundraiser or even come out on October 14th, 2018 at Wompatuck to race the Renegade Run with us.
